Divinity lies in the breath within the breath – Kabir (mystic poet) By tuning into the intrinsic movement patterns of the body, led by the breath, we heighten our awareness and as we heighten awareness we experience more ananda (bliss) Like the pulsation of breath our body loves to both move and rest. In this workshop you will flow between dynamism and stillness. Through embodied anatomy and the ancient map of yoga go on a journey through the physical and energetic bodies and discover deep harmony from within. Open to all When: Saturday 4th of October, 3-5.30pm Cost: £25

How to Flow: Breath and Alignment for Dynamic Yoga with Sarah Scharf

How to “flow” safely with the rhythm of your breath is at the heart of dynamic yoga. This workshop will teach you when to rest, how to breath with transitions between poses and how to modify when needed. Teaching variations on the Sun Salutations used in the vinyasa or dynamic styles, you will take home a version that suits your body now and helps to build strength and awareness for deepening your practice. Focusing on healthy alignment during the “vinyasa flow” brings you the freedom to feel at home in even the strongest class. Looking closely at how to modify poses to suit individual bodies you will discover how to find balance between effort (sthiram) and ease (sukham). We will end with a deep relaxation.
