Mindfulness invites us to bring our full awareness to our present moment experience - opening up to ourselves with a gentle, caring attention. Through cultivating qualities such as compassion, curiosity, acceptance and non-judgment our yoga practice becomes a setting for self-inquiry rather than another vehicle for striving and achieving. In this way it becomes a refuge for us within our busy lives; a space where we can check in with how we are and recognise what we need; a space where we can notice patterns of behaviour that are and aren't serving us well. From this greater awareness and sense of kindness we can make wiser choices both on and off the mat.
This workshop will outline the key qualities of mindful awareness and explore how we can embody them in both movement and stillness through our yoga practice.
Open to everyone - beginners welcome.
